what always amazes me is how clean and exquisit their fur is considering that they spend most of the time underground.

Those little kicks shoveling out the dirt are so adorable!

Thanks for posting! Moles are fascinating. If you ever get the chance when camping, pitch your tent over the runs. They make squeeking sounds as they travel their tunnels. We found their vocals to be quite loud and very funny especially when two met head-to-head (we assume) and there was an 'argument'! Hugely entertaining.

I am 49 years old and I have never seen a mole in the wild. Always signs of a mole but never a mole. Well done lad!
Mister_H.
I have never seen a mole in real life and I always wondered what their digging looked like. Now I know! Thank you!
MsSteelphoenix
They are super fast. Once my cat caught one, when I picked it up it appeared to still be alive, I put it on the ground and it was gone underground within 20 seconds (ground was a little less hard then it appears to be here, and it clearly was in a rush to escape) absolutely amazing. A lean mean drilling machine.

This is like a time lapse of my life.. I ve been paying of debt for over 25 years, for a house... Watching this little guy get a home in couple of minutes pretty much summed up my life.

Genuinely impressed with how quickly that little guy dug a hole for himself. I mean, I always assumed they are quick diggers, but actually seeing them tear into the soil and just vanishing within a minute is still pretty amazing.

I am a 73 year old mole and have dug many a trenches in my prime, and I can attest this is one of the fastest holes I’ve ever seen dug. Good job young fellow!

Just got to admire those little creatures. Good luck buddy despite you ruining my lawn last year. Just didn’t have the heart to trap my mole, I could easily have done so but I have too much respect for such a specialised animal.

If I first saw the mole at the stage from 0:40 to 0:50, it would be so unsettling. It looks like a pulsating, moldy potato.
mvmlego
It's crazy how much energy there is in such a teeny tiny cute little mole 😮

The fact that a creature has to be this incredible at such a niche skill reveals exactly how horrifyingly brutal life is.

If you've ever handled a mole you'll know they are a sausage-shaped bundle of solid muscle.

Terrible soil, but the mole made the most of it! Wonderful to see the burrowing experience.

You might not like it, but this is what peak mole performance looks like.

Amazing! Thank you. Rodents are underappreciated. Everyone likes to see beautiful raptors, foxes, wolves, coyotes, etc., but they villainizes voles and other rodents that sustain these beautiful creatures. Beavers are the most important animals to North American wildlife because they raise the water table. Ground squirrels are the second most important animal to North American wildlife for the same reason.
Thanks for bringing attention to these underappreciated animals!
