The Independence class is a class of littoral combat ships (LCS) developed for the United States Navy. Constructed by Austal USA, these ships feature a trimaran hull design, providing stability, speed, and a spacious deck area for mission flexibility. With a length of approximately 418 feet and a displacement of around 3,100 metric tons, the Independence class LCSs can reach speeds over 40 knots and have a range of about 3,500 nautical miles. They are equipped with modular mission packages that can be quickly reconfigured to adapt to various mission requirements. These ships have a core crew of around 50 sailors but can accommodate additional personnel as needed. Biggest waste of money since the Freedom-class, which was the biggest waste of money since railguns, which was the biggest waste of money since the Zumwalt-class. But I'm sure the Constellation-class will be great.
