My favorite Marvel story. I actually own three key pages (including Ronan breaking his hammer on Ravenous'face!) and had series artist Andrea DiVito make me a commission of Nova fighting Annihilus!
I was lucky to have met Keith Giffen a few years ago and asked him a bunch of geeky questions about the series. He was great- answered all my questions and told me a lot of background on Marvel at the time and why he quit them after Annihilation.

The most interesting thing about Annihilus?: At his very core he's just a coward
A tiny, worm like creature that is so afraid that anything might harm him that he moves to destroy everything else first
Never realizing that his ceaseless march of destruction is what makes him a target in the first place
Being afraid to be hurt can often make suffering inevitable

It is to this day my favorite Marvel Event. I revisit it every year and it has aged beautifully.
Ronan and Kr’lt taking storming Hala and taking it back is just character development perfection for these two nemesis.

ROM: Spaceknight is my favorite series of the cosmic side of Marvel. I love the weaving of small town drama with vast horrific cosmic threats. The fact that they went so hard on a license comic for a single toy that flopped miserably is crazy! It actually had lasting effects on the Marvel Universe (Rogue touching ROM being a big one), yet due to license comic nature, will likely never be reprinted (Hasbro owns ROM).

Easily one of my favorite events. Steve Englehart's Surfer run as well as New Warriors were some of my favorites when I was younger, so reading a story where the puzzle pieces of Marvel's cosmic world consolidated felt kinda validating to read. It also gave me some incentive to read a few I missed like Quasar.
Enjoyed this as well as your recent do-overs/reevaluations of what you covered a few years ago.

Good overview. Still one of the best events they've done. I would recommend in addition to the books discussed, the second half of Kieth Giffen's THANOS run circa 2004. It set up a lot of the worldbuilding that would come into play here (the Kyln, Quill's reintroduction to the MU and a number of other things)
