I live in Houston, where we deal with extreme weather - heat, hurricanes, tropical storms, flash flooding, and others. Please, listen to them when they say not to drive in flooded areas. Flash flooding can happen in seconds, especially on concrete. It's scary to get caught in it and people drown and die when their cars are washed away. Please be careful! We love you, San Diego.

If you have plastic jugs fill them 2/3 with water and put them in your freezers. They will freeze and help keep your food cold longer so you might have a chance to use some of it before it goes bad. DO NOT open the fridge or freezer any more than absolutely necessary to retain the cold.

Put generators well away from your house. MANY people live through the storm but die from carbon monoxide poisoning because they put the generator in the garage.

Prayers are with you

Im so proud of our California Counties. They are ao ready. Ive received so many alerts and calls to see if we need assistance or sand bags. Incredible. I feel safe and i felt like they care. Thank you Newsome and all the people helping to prepare ❤❤❤ I love California. Im proud to be a Californian ❤❤❤

Turn around, don't drown. That water you think is a few inches deep may mask the washed out road underneath, making it several inches deeper at the least, and that is enough for you to lose the road under your tires.

I was A Boy scout growing up and I've been around disasters like airline disasters and let me just say it pays to be overcautious with something like this that hasn't occurred in 100 years and they didn't have satellites and ways to check on the growth of the hurricane back then so we should count ourselves lucky that we get warnings at least but mother nature can be very cruel so everyone be ready for the worst situations and be strong and brave and look out for each other and love each other.

Expect the worst. Imagine the best. Be mindfully alert; not afraid.❤

The sidewalks in the gritty areas needed Mother Nature cleaning. The time to clean the streets by the city should always be done all the time so it doesn’t go to the ocean. City responsibility.

Growing up, my Mom always filled the bathtub full of water when we had bad storms… that way, if the flooding caused issues with the water department, we could still flush the toilet.

the wind will blow all the tents away, tents are not safe.

I know it’s a Hurricane right now, but the title of the press conference insinuates SD will be hit by Hilary as a hurricane, not a Tropical Storm, which is what NOAA has been forecasting

Watch SDG&E use this as an excuse to increase rates again! 😳

Folks: If you haven’t already, throw some gallon jugs of water into your freezer. If you have the prolonged power outages they’re discussing, those ice blocks can preserve your perishable foods. One or two of these ice jug blocks should help keep your refrigerator cool.

He's a likeable Mayor there was a sincerity of heart free from ego in his professional articulation of presenting the facts.
It's nice to see the preparation in place.
May God's mercy and protection be with you all.💕🙏

Surfers better not get any ideas 😅 trust me it does NOT end well trying to chase hurricane force waves.

Has anyone mentioned boarding up windows? I'm from the Texas Gulf Coast. Board up! We used to keep a set of pre-cut window covers to slap up with big screws for hurricanes. Strips of tape are not gonna do it.
