How to Actually Increase Your Internet Speed

In this video we go over how to increase your internet speed, assuming you are NOT getting the speed you are paying for from your internet provider. There is no magic bullet here, so there is no way to get a faster connection that what you buy. However, there are several issues that may be causing you to get a slower internet connection than what you should be. This tutorial walks you through the most common problems.

I increased my internet speed by calling the ISP and paying for more.

I have two more, that actually helped me personally.

1) If you have a DSL connection, make sure the little box that separates the phone cable from the internet cable, is in good condition (DSL port?). I switched between several and saw a 50 kbps increase (for my country, that shit's a lot)

2) If you have an antenna connection (parabolic antenna in your roof pointed to some sort of radio tower that shoots internet all over the place), make sure it is properly aligned, has enough surface area for the distance and the receptor is centered.

Funny thing is, I have a 25 mbps (3.125 MB/s) plan and I average about 3.6 MB/s and peak at 3.7 MB/s. Thanks Telus!
