I love how you matched the speed of the train to the speed of the song

2 Norfolk and Western Behemoths charging along with a 100+ rake of cars? THAT is what I see when I think of a train!!!! Fits perfectly!!!

The song that gives the vibes of Heavyweight American Locomotives of Hualing Tons, In different weather conditions, built to be standing at 16ft to cover long distances, Burning coal, Oil, etc. Getting the job Done no matter what.

interesting fact I learnt was that double heading trains were less efficient than single engine trains, of cause they could pull heavier loads but their fuel consumption and total power increase were pretty poor. Also it was a difficult operation

I always say that steam locomotives are some of the best metronomes 😌

~~ comments were off on the longest johns official page so here you go...

Give me a spade and I'll give you a hole

(Way-O on the railroad)
Dirt on my brow but steel in my soul
(Way-O on the railroad)

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs
Sweat and blood gonna earn my pay
All the way to 'Frisco Bay

Blowing through hills trying to make up time (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad)
Ain't nothing gonna stand in the way of our line (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad)

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs
Ain't no slave but we slave away
All the way to 'Frisco Bay (eeeh)

Bossman says that a mile a day's the pace (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad)
I'll make two for the look on his face (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad)

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs
Ain't no slave but we slave away
All the way to 'Frisco Bay

Surveyor's trying to plan which route is best (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad) (eeeh)
Just draw a straight line from East to West (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad) (huh)

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs (hey)
Ain't no slave but we slave away
All the way to 'Frisco Bay

Spare no quarter and we'll spare no man (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad)
Just pray we don't run in to the Cheyenne (whuh)
(Way-O on the railroad)

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs
Sweat and blood gonna earn my pay
All the way to 'Frisco Bay

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs
Ain't no slave but we slave away
All the way to 'Frisco Bay

Picking up coal and we're picking up speed
Shovel as much as the engine needs
If I should fall leave me where I laaaayyy
On the railway to 'Frisco Bayyyy

This video was, not only a great tribute to the coal trains of the N&W, but a great tribute to the heavy-weight champions of the railroad.
