US vice president Kamala Harris calls for 'immediate ceasefire' in Gaza | Israel-Hamas war

The US has made its strongest statement yet on the crisis in Gaza, saying there must be an "immediate ceasefire" and aid must be allowed in.

US vice president Kamala Harris described the situation as "inhumane" and an "humanitarian catastrophe".

She called for a six-week ceasefire to allow Israeli hostages out - and aid in.

Ceasefire negotiations are continuing in Egypt but there are reports Israel may be preparing to boycott the talks.
