When I visited that super misty, glasses fogging, area of Grand Prismatic two years ago I just stopped in it for awhile. I felt like I had baptized of a sort by Gaia herself. It’s amazing ❤
I went to Rocky Mountain National Park during peak, August, this year. I was in such a foul mood and so over people by the end of my week, on my last day, I drove in with my timed reservation and almost immediately drove out and headed down to the national forest instead, which still was swamped with people but they were at least less rude. I have a goal to visit all the national parks but I’m avoiding peak seasons moving forward as much as I can.

This is absolutely spectacular to see. Thank you Amanda for sharing it with us. Definitely worth coming back again sometime. Maybe you can take Wynston out for a quick walk on the path and have Brock take a picture of you and Wynston and then take him back to the van. Can’t wait to see what’s on the next one.

What so gorgeous. I could love it even more without the people! It is just so amazing! Thank you for sharing. Don't know that I'll ever get there in person so thank you for sharing!

What fun. Some terrific shots of geysers and buffalo. Thanks for doing all the work for us couch potatoes.😅 P.S. I enjoy music, but accept your decision to do without this time.❤

I don't remember that boardwalk in the 70s. I was very young then so 🤔

I haven't been through the whole video yet, but I paused it to put in a little note. So, yeah, Brock's been there before, but I think that was his first time. I get the wanting to rush to show you the exciting stuff. There is so much to see and do there. Fortunately, you got an annual pass, so you'll be able to go back and not be rushed. I love your idea of unedited driving video. Thank you for that.
A lot of those boardwalks you'll be on throughout the park, in '96, I pushed my grandmother around in her wheelchair with my then 3½ year old son riding on the pegs of it. My grandmother was 75 at the time, and that was her first time there. I got to see it through new eyes again. That is, I think, my favorite trip to Yellowstone. ❤
Ps....I certainly empathize about the children being noisy. 😬
Ok yep me you'll have to go back when it's warmer so you can see it (Grand Prismatic) without the fog. (There is a path to hike up behind GP to get the full effect of it. I haven't been on it - yet - but I've seen others there.)

Amanda, I can't thank you, Brock, and Wynston enough for sharing your trip through Yellowstone with us. I visited Yellowstone 45 years ago with my parents and I have always wanted to return. It is just as beautiful as I remember. Thank you again and I can't wait for part 2. Safe travels to you all!

I feel you on the screaming kids and obnoxious tourists. I particularly enjoyed y'all getting stuck behind the family holding hands across the entire platform. Like no, we aren't trying to walk here or anything. 🙄🤣 That looks gorgeous and very peaceful when the crowds die down. Hope the rest of your trip is wonderful!

Visited Yellowstone in 2019. Your video brought back great memories. BTW, I prefer NO music when you’re driving so this video was just perfect!!

Yellowstone gets over 4 million visitors each year and 90% of them come in the summer. If you’re looking for solitude, come back in February.
