if your water valve is no good (which many are in my DW install experience) then you can just shut the valve at your water heater off if you have one if not then your main valve can be closed. If you have a basement it helps to open a faucet in the basement if possible, otherwise just open your sink faucet and have a towel ready for any water that comes out.

I'm getting a new LG dishwasher Monday January 08, 2018!

YOU DON'T NEED TEFLON TAPE, IT CAN CAUSE A LEAK THIS DRIVES ME NUTS, also that last thing you do is hook up water, drain and electrical. Get it pushed in and make sure your new dishwasher fits, adjust feet as needed then mount using top mount or side mount THEN hook up your water and test, then your drain then your electric. Run your cycle to make sure everything works, water sprays, drain doesn't leak then put your kick plate on. You name the model I have installed it, have a question ask.

My dishwasher is just a power line. No plug in the wall. So had to figure it out. Very different from the video.

Step 1, turn off the power.Then later you disconnected the water old line without showing us how/where/etc.

Those are compression fitting with ferrules ring NOT to be flare and the hook up connects are brass NOT copper. Please do your home work before putting out wrong infor .Could cause major problems with damage and code trouble.
