If you watch closely, the sound you're hearing is not actually being played live. He's "lip synching" (for lack of a better term) guitar playing. At the middle and end when he jumps and "hits/ plays" a chord while turned around, he blatantly misses (twice). Also, he's a bit off while using the tremolo bar and definitely not even hitting it at the end of the part when he appears to go nuts with the trem bar. If you watch close enough, he's "off" several times throughout the video. I actually watched this video because I noticed it while watching his "Purple Rain" cover at Howard Sterns birthday show and searched for more of him to see if that was just a one time thing or a fluke. 90% of the videos I watched of him "soloing" he was "guitar synching" to a pre recorded backing track. If you don't actually play the guitar I doubt you'll notice anything, but for those of you who can handle an axe (probably no one thats watching this Adam Levine solo lol) you'll be able to tell, if you're looking for it. Having said that, you can tell he can play, he's not just playing "air" guitar and by that I mean if the video was on mute, you can tell he's playing through real scales and using a vibrato technique that someone who couldn't play guitar would not be doing. All of this is just an opinion, I don't have 20/20 vision and of course my video and audio could have been slightly off causing me to misinterpret the recording . Also I'm watching on a smart phone screen, not a jumbo screen. Be your own judge.

I think it’s kinda dumb that the he only brings out a guitar for a solo and then gets rid of it. If your gonna play guitar then do more then just a solo.

When I search for Prince playing guitar, I get hours of footage with the bonus of videos of him playing bass for hours. When I search for Adam Levine playing guitar I get this shit show that is worse than Kirk Hammett’s worst solo
