Bambu Lab H2D First Impressions User Review

The Bambu Lab H2D has arrived. The leaks were true, but the don't tell the whole story. This video is my first look at the new H2D machine covering as many features and functions as possible in the very short time frame available!

I had no information on pricing on creation of this video.

I've spent a lot of time crunching hard to get this video out on time for the release. If you are looking to purchase, please consider using my affiliate link below to help me fund the time spent on this work.

Note: Affiliate links tell the shop that I sent you. If you purchase, it costs you nothing extra, but I get a small cut from the seller which helps support the channel and allows me to take time to make great videos for you to watch.

What parts of this machine are you interested to see more of when I do the teardown?

The details on color usage and waste and speed were very helpful. I have never printed more that 3 colors in a print with my Kickstarter X1C. I do a reasonable amount of 2-color printing, so the dual nozzle print head would definitely be an improvement along with the larger build area. Thanks for an informative review.

They give Prusa a run for the money – again.
Starting saving for my dual-nozzle *Prusa* *Core* *2* now!

I am not sure throwing a laser in to the mix is a particularly good idea. All that nasty particulate in the fumes to get everywhere and gum up the works. Also it's a bit small as lasers go so my preference would be to have separate machines for each task. Apart from that Will probably not get another BL product as the firmware stunt left a bad taste in my mouth.

Although the major developments aren't what most were expecting there's plenty of good improvements on the FDM side as well. The air re-circulation feature, larger filter, larger build volume and automated flaps solve most of my annoyances with the original series. The heated chamber and AMS2 pro are welcome features as well.

I doubt I'll need the laser and cutting tool heads I do like that they exist. I can see a myriad of reasons why someone would need them and if you do the price difference may make sense in that case. Overall I'm pleased with the depth of utility it offers and the upgrades it has made from the original and the fact that the AMS 2 is backwards compatible is a great strategy. I do hope they offer some level of open software options for the base model and hope they can also work something out with Orca in the future because it's a great piece of software that I prefer over BS.

@3:37 where may I find that trainer/sneaker model?

Why why why not just add an Ethernet port… this seems like the perfect machine to have one added

You actually dont want to print and dry at the same time as this will cause your filament to be slightly softer and will cause similar issues as heat creep can. So ive heard anyway

Imagine having one nozzle dedicated to support filament with the other using ams

I need at least another 3 years to forget the truth about them and buy one. It took me 6 years to move on from DJI destroying 3DR. I suppose at least Prusa survived which makes it less painful. Nice breakdown Adam, first place I came to.

I'm most definitely interested in the tear down... I wanna know: how easy is it to change the pulley/idlers (not the tensioners, but those in the front and back ;-) )

Excellent review, looking forward to teardown (go nuts!). Subscribed.

Bad idea, having a laser and a 3D printer in one unit. I have both and I know first hand you get lots of crap blown around in the laser housing

Thanks for the unboxing. I already knew that I wasn't touching this generation of bambu with a barge pole after their recent firmware stunt but watching this I can now honestly and most assuredly say that I'm not going to regret that decision.

Anyone that thinks putting a laser inside this is a good idea doesn't have any laser experience. It is going to ruin the inside of this printer quickish. All that carbon and soot deposits is going to sit on everything and soon the machine will be ruined. I will definitely get the non laser version I like the dual nozzle system

Good work Adam. When's this coming apart? Live Stream?

When nozzle A is printing, is nozzle B already unloading and reloading itself so it's ready for when nozzle A is done so when it homes, it immediately purges? That would cut down a LOT of time.
Clearly this is a question when printing 3 or more colors.

One way to get the full 350 mm build width is to put the same color in each nozzle, obviously it would be better to have multiple AMS units to preserve your material/color options, but it does give you that full tree fiddy.

Credit to Joel Telling for sharing that tip in his initial H2D video :)
