Why would you move to the North Dallas area?

Here I share some of the thoughts on WHY we moved to North Dallas from New York City.
We lived on the Upper East of Manhattan for close to 15 years but my wife and I wanted to have a family, own a home and put our kids in good schools. New York City is good for many things but family, real estate and schools are not those things.
Our search began looking in the surrounding NYC boroughs and suburbs but the home values and commutes were just unreasonable. The surrounding Connecticut, New Jersey were options but as we started comparing other options around the country, the value of the suburbs of the northeast began to diminish.
We literally started by searching in google "best places to raise a family." Our searching brought us to San Diego, Florida, North Carolina and Colorado. At one point, after much research, discussion and especially prayer we collectively decided to move to Texas. Now Texas is big place with three major cities: Austin, Dallas and Houston. The deal breaker with picking one of these three cities was the DFW airport. We came here twice looking at real estate before we moved and we have traveled into DFW for conferences in the past. Besides the fact that the airport is huge, has good valued flights everywhere it is so well designed that door-to-door, or door-to-airplane is so easy, including car rentals. This came a huge relief because after 20 years of pretending to enjoy travel through LaGuardia and JFK we can actually enjoy travel.
My conversations about Austin and Houston have led me to believe that Austin is pretty cool and an amazing place to live and Houston is just not. Although I have not been to either and they both need a little more exploration before I can really say much.
So suffice it to say we moved to North Dallas or essentially the North Dallas suburbs. Now when I say the north Dallas suburbs, I am saying from the West: Southlake to the east: Rockwall and Richardson which borders the actually north of the city of Dallas to Prosper which is as far as one could go before you get into the country.
I will go into much more depth all the different reasons we have moved and my main purpose is to share what we have discovered about neighborhoods, cities, communities what is very different and what is familiar for someone that is not from around here.
We are also working on a real estate project to assist people in discovering the best to call home, because it is common to look for a home but not understand the neighborhood or community so we are building this site and this YouTube channel to share info about all the subdivisions and neighborhoods in one of the most highly sought after areas of the country.
If you are interested in buying or selling a home in this area, we can help you or if you are interested in moving here and want to know what is the best way to explore,
1. We will be sharing our experiences in coming here and driving around looking at neighborhoods
2. When we moved here
Over the next weeks and months, we will be producing content that will assist transplants in discovering the why and the what to expect about everything in this tremendous area of the country.
We want to make it easy for you. Feel free to download our guide, subscribe to this channel and connect with us on Facebook.
