New Mercedes-Benz ACTROS Edition 2 Production Line | Mercedes Factory Tour | How Truck is Made
Показать описание
2022 Production of Mercedes-Benz Actros Edition 2 trucks in Germany
The makings of a quality Actros: Mercedes-Benz Trucks has even set aside an unique assembly facility for the Edition 2.
One instrument panel after another glides from the assembly line. Employees on the production line at Mercedes-Benz Wörth know exactly what to do and when. With the guidance of a list, they make their way through the cockpit's equipment one by one. The next instrument panel is noticeably different from the others; for starters, it's covered in a beige-colored cover. What's beneath the surface is evocative of the S-Class. Black nappa leather has been used by Mercedes-Benz Trucks to cover it. Various interior components have a carbon-fibre appearance. And it's clearly evident that a special truck will be born on this production line in the next several hours.
The limited-edition Actros Edition 2 special model has everything it takes to become the truck's flagship in the future years.

Everything is done by hand here.
The cab interior fittings section's row of cabs makes for a colorful production line. One of the cabs in particular stands out in this stage of production as well. Between the B and C pillars, a distinctive decal with the so-called "star pattern" may be seen.
Every operation on this production line is completed by hand. It would be impossible to handle the sheer number of possible equipment selections and job stages if this were not the case. The nappa leather instrument panel, for example, is now standard on the Edition 2. It's only one of the inside characteristics of the Edition. A high-quality leather steering wheel, leather door handles with topstitching, and a roof hatch with ambient lighting will be included in the truck's features.
The installation of all of the equipment in the truck's cab takes about six hours. The cab, which is finished in magno cerussite grey paint, is then installed on the chassis, where it sits atop a 12.8-litre six-cylinder engine with a 390-kW output.
