I think it's crucial to remind people that prep is for preventing HIV and HIV alone. This is why it is VERY important that you don't ditch the condom and keep avoiding sexual practices that can still increase your risk of catching other STI's (such as swallowing).

This is really well done, very educational. We applaud you from Geneva. I work on PrEP implementation at the World Health Organization. Keep up the great work, guys.

Taking an anti HIV medication, every day, long term, needs thinking about. It's certainly not for everyone.

I was on Truvada for 2 months and then stopped. It’s expensive af, can’t afford it. I can’t stress how important it is to practice safe sex and always use condoms.

great video. there's a real shortage of objective instruction on this subject and i hope it reaches younger guys who are more likely to see it on youtube. it's a shame that the people who are at highest risk seem to get the least information these days.

i see all the comments below from the PreP Trolls who believe their opinions outweigh scientific data. i encourage people to do themselves a favor and not engage. talk to a doctor instead.

i have a question: i dont have seks that often but when i do, i want to be on Prep. My doctor said i should then take 1 or 2 pills, 2 hours before and 1 pil the day after, and 1 pil the second day. But i see on this videos that you should take it everyday. I am little bit confused. Can someone please help me with this question?

Didn’t talk about side effects. Also if you aren’t having sex everyday or have multiple partners. Why take it everyday?

Great video! But I kinda still don't get the purpose of prep. If condoms protect you at a similar percentage than this medicament. And you're still recommended to use condoms while on it. Then why would you take it? Why is this worth the expense? I feel it's redundant since you're already protected at pretty much the same level with just the condom. I don't know if it's just me, but I only see it as an ideal preventive drug for couples where partners have different Hiv status, so the one that is hiv+ takes his Hiv medication, which among other things gets their viral load undetectable; and the hiv- person will take prep to reduce even more the probability of acquiring it. So they could have sex without condom if they wanted.

WHAT IF. And I'm only saying what if, they give this drug and instruct to use it daily to slowly kill the user?

Wouldn't it be healthier to just stop having sex?
