Google at a 5MB file: We couldn't scan it, it's too big.

The YouTuber shown whose channel got hacked (theshookkitty) was a very talented animator, it's very sad that she still hasn't gotten her channel back after two years...

YouTube needs to remove malicious links and scammers off of their platform.

The smooth brains at youtube removed the dislike so now users can know the bs tutorial videos from the good ones

Thanks for keeping us up to date, it’s shocking how often malware like this comes up.

Finally someone big covered this. Ive seen these since 2019 but they really have blown up and they are on EVERYTHING cracked or cheat related. I know many people that arent as tech savy and have fallen for them

Yup that's EXACTLY what happened to me.
I managed to contain the breach mainly by disabling my account for quarantine, and I revoked access to every single application linked to it.

it's just sad though, people work hard for their youtube channels, like me (not that I do this for money though), only for heartless hackers to ruin it.

"The reason that the file is password-protected is to cover the malware from being scanned."

Makes sense actually, someone wouldn't be able to inspect a room if the door is locked.

Thanks for this valuable information I didn't know I'd learn.

If we only had some sort of a public user rating system, that becomes a big red flag if either very negative or deactivated by the uploader.
Like some public indicators, not influencable via moderation tools.

Let this sink in: youtube actually allowed an ad that is literal malware.

I reported that channel to YouTube / Google but I doubt this incompetent company will do anything.

Not sure if anyone pointed out, but if you look at the bottom you'll see some animation videos that don't match the malware ones, so this channel definitely fell victim to this scam!

Just one of the many reasons I won't pay for YouTube.

Why don't browsers have more security against stealing login credentials? This kind of thing has been going on for a while.

I like how youtube is killing good videos about legit cracked adobe softwares but doesn't give a shlt about malware being spread so easily

Excellent video! Thinking about doing a deep-dive into suspicious advertisements hosted by Google's Ad system?

fire video, as always making people aware of any malware breaks, kinda gives you a headache how easy it is.

Feels like the "I love you" message back in 2000’s, once infected, infected others.

why don't modern OSes run all apps in virtual machines to limit the attack footprint? for example - make it easy to set up a VM to browse YouTube videos go to other links, and download files from (not that I ever downloaded a file linked from a youtube video anyway). That way any malicious files could be limited to the VM, which you could restore from a previous snapshot at any time?
