US worker shortage threatens economy

The US job market has been seeing significant growth however there are concerns a worker shortage could impact future economic recovery.

For every unemployed person analysts suggest there is at least two open jobs, creating steep competition for workers.

“The supply of labour remains constrained and that in turn is going to put upward pressure on wages and ultimately upward pressure on prices,” Morning Consult Chief Economist John Leer said.

A big factor in worker shortage is the sense of entitlement arising from months of hand-outs from the government that resulted in people quitting their jobs because between unemployment payments and the handouts, it became more profitable to stay home. Now, with handouts winding down and unemployment payments running out due to length of coverage, those ready to return to work are demanding more than the offered wages which many employers can't afford.

The great resignation is still happening and America's are using the short supply to their advantage to get higher pay. They expect high inflation so will ask for higher wages.

Unemployment benefits account for quite a few . Ability and willingness to work account for a lot more not getting jobs .

I'm not saying that every employee is perfect, trust me I know there are slackers out there. But the majority of people are hard workers. However, the people of this country are absolutely FED UP with toxic work environments!! They are tired of being treated badly by management and clients. And many (not all) employers need to take a good long look in the mirror and realize that their narcissistic/sociopathic personalities, favoritism, and nepotism are real the problems. That is why they can't find anyone to work for them, and can't keep or get rid of the good people they once had. Say they have one good employee, that they end up working to death with no recognition or compensation who ultimately quits, because they're tired of being the "work horse" while some slacker or family member is the "show pony".
And let's not forget the health insurance companies (greedy bastards). So you finally qualify for benefits and get signed up, only to find that between what they take from your check and the sky-high deductibles you have to pay out of pocket, you can't actually afford to use the health insurance you're paying for. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Quit blaming the workers and start looking at what the TRUE problems are and fix them!!
