Pokemon Legends: Arceus is easily the worst Pokemon Game when you get into the details which is really bad for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Pokemon Legends ZA is already being defended as the next best Pokemon game even though there is no reason to expect that. A hot take
At least Legends plays well in terms of visuals and quality compared to the absolute buggy mess that is scarlet and Violet even after all those patches
- a recent one a whole cliff side had rendering issues causing Pokémon to fall through the map, the damn Picnic table not spawning in the plates making it impossible to make a sandwich, scuffed camera angles even on a slight incline making you see though the map and let’s not forget the inconsistent hit boxes for Pokémon encounters- ran into a psyduck who was underneath a bridge in the water while i on top of the bridge and because of how the camera is designed all I could see was the bridge from a Birds Eye view

One thing i do like about the game is the final volo fight because he uses 7 pokemon. We need more bosses that cheat and do things the player cant. I want to see villains using more than 6 pokemon, 2v1ing you, or using things that aren't normal pokemon like the starmobiles.

When I rate / review games to get my siblings or friends interested, I rate a game on 4 categories: Plot, Characters, Music, and Gameplay.
Legends Arceus excels at 0 out of 4.

Plot:
The story focused legend game and the best plot they can manage is an inferior retelling of Red Rescue Team.

Also in Legends, theres the Celestic Ruins or whatever and Giratina has been banished already so there's a legend before the legend? Huh?


Characters:
Most of them are unoriginal reskins of Diamond and Pearl characters.


Music:
Not memorable except 2 songs. Also there were times where no music would play for minutes at a time.


Gameplay:
I actually had fun for a little bit, but other games with resource gathering and crafting just do it better. (Like Minecraft and the Atelier series. Tears of the Kingdom too with the fusion mechanics, but that came out after so I'll exclude it.)

However, filling in your dex without breeding was a chore and the distortions made completing the game absolutely miserable.

Pokemon arceus is the pokemon game with the best gameplay to me

So you (the player) in PLA fall out of the mysterious portal that opened up in the sky, and there are several moments throughout the story where characters all confirm that they or someone else saw you fall out of it. The portal is located at the top of the Coronet Highlands, yet the beach we were found at is at a completely different part of the map. There are no rivers that we could have maybe floated down from the mountains, and it's not like we were escorted by a Pokemon safely to the beach. How did we get here, and how did multiple people supposedly witness our descent from this portal across the region?. At the end of the story we learn exactly what this portal is, it was created by Volo giving Giratina enough power to tear open a rift in space and time to connect its world to ours. So... how did this mortal human give Pokemon Satan the power the break the restraints placed upon it by Pokemon God? Well it's never explained, maybe there's dialogue once you catch Arceus that I'm just forgetting about or something but as far as I'm aware it's a mystery. Speaking of Arceus, he sent us through a portal into the past. The same portal we later learn was created by Giratina. Not trying to question the power and wisdom of the god of Pokemon, but why send a child through a portal that is connected to the Pokemon universe's version of Hell??? After beating Volo he mentions he's leaving to go study the legends of this region, except he's been doing that his entire life, as stated by himself throughout the game. It's not like there will be new information to study because the player catches all the legends and Volo is fully aware of this. The story of each legend is effectively over since we caught them. If Volo wants any chance of learning more about them he would have to talk to us, but instead he just wanders off into the distance. Ok I'm done with my rant.

Maybe it because I grew up watching the anime and I never noticed, I always thought it was ok.

I feel that with pla it is around 1850s when it takes place but due to its still developing world it wasnt as far ahead and i feel like apri balls from joto were used for years long before hisui and then the development for that pokeball lavaton made was developed as the first modern pokeball.( yes ik its not modern nowaday but modern in the sense it is a start of modern development of the original common design)

In Pokémon Horizons, the character Lucius existed 100 years prior to the modern events of the anime, and he encountered his Klevor in Hisui within that 100 year mark
