Let's talk about that Xbox Showcase

Xbox had their not-E3 showcase today announcing some new games while also bringing major updates to a lot of long awaited titles like Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and more! Here's some thoughts about the show

It was a 10 out of 10 for one reason only. I didn't hear the word Television once. Xbox has come a long way

Overall, I thought it was good. A lot of variety and a few surprises, and except for Wo Long (which looks pretty interesting), everything had gameplay. The biggest disappointment was not knowing in advance that this would be a roadmap of the next year to come so my hype for seeing things like Avowed, Indiana Jones, etc., kind of spoiled my appetite; and also, I was hoping for a couple shadow drops (like Goldeneye 😕).

I think it was a very solid event, wish we had stuff out today...or atleast the next month or so. But...it was far from a bad showing imo.

Glad to hear your voice the same opinions I’ve been thinking on the Bethesda games, the small crafted worlds and each individual piece of lore are my favorite parts. 1000 worlds sounds early no man’s sky-ish

Xbox event roadmap has all these games for the next 12 months or so and meanwhile I barely got through 4-5~ games so far on Game Pass (upgraded to Series S almost 3 weeks ago). I didn’t watch the actual event but when I saw the list of games coming to Game Pass in both the remaining of ‘22 and to be expected in ‘23 my jaw dropped (Starfield, STALKER 2, Atomic Heart, Plague Tale Requiem, Scorn, Redfall, and High On Life)! Not to mention EA’s Jedi Survivor next year (finally completed Jedi Fallen Order a few hours ago, 100% recommend). What a time to be a gamer! I’ve never played a Resident Evil game before until recently I tried out 7 before it was removed from Game Pass. An hour in I immediately realized what I had been missing and now we’ve got Resident Evil 4 (remake?) coming to Game Pass. Game pass is the best thing to have happened in gaming IMHO!

Shredders Revenge, Persona, and Silksong are on GamePass Day 1. Just sayin.

Redfall looks incredible. You’ll absolutely be able to play this solo, which is awesome. Diablo IV, Starfield, Nightingale, Witchfire and Ereban all look super exciting. A really solid showcase all round. 👌

Remember Todd said that it’s not how a game comes out. It’s how it progresses or something like that. I can’t trust him and hopefully everyone who is excited for starfield doesn’t get disappointed. Dudes lied before.

Microsoft are replaying the same conference in a few days (maybe tomorrow?) that has more content and may even have titles that weren't shown that may include stuff they're working in that will be released a little further out. So just wanted to mention that.

When Starfield came up and the dude said there are around 1000 planets, I got some serious flashbacks of promises from the devs that made No Man's Sky. Not the greatest showcase I've seen, was kinda hoping more first party stuff like some Halo news.

This showcase was an S tier for me. Absolutely the best one Xbox has ever done, Im getting basically everything ive ever wanted and im hyped and so damn happy.

While the whole presentation was awesome, I'm personally only excited for 2 things that showed up in the showcase: The FH5 Hot Wheels expansion, and Starfield.

I've been playing Hot Wheels: Unleashed since it came out last year. And while I'm having fun with it, the clunky and inaccurate track and livery editors are really starting to test my patience.
With Forza Horizon 5 getting a new Hot Wheels expansion with a full set of track pieces to make custom tracks and its already kitted out Livery Editor, I'm sold.
Each game has its strengths and own sense of fun, but I think I might have a little more creative freedom in FH5.

As for Starfield; we can build our own ships. That's just Kerbal Space Program with an RPG tacked on, to me.
And I can already see the many creative minds building replicas of pop culture spaceships and flooding the internet with tutorials to build them.

The Starfield ship flying reminds me of Star Wars Squadrons, Looks just as fun, I want to see more of that in the future

I personally think Microsoft did very well, I personally enjoyed their announcements more than PlayStation this time around
