Lightwerkz, this looks awesome. Thanks for the discount code. Makes them cheaper than the 4.0! Nice.

Thanks for the review
I wish you kept your camera settings to manual so it the exposure didn't keep jumping while we're looking at the light pattern.
Also, the 4.0 appeared brighter because the 5.0 is shining a little bit below it.

The d2s 5.0 is really great. It was my first retro install and except for the bulb caps which easily damages the light bulbs, they're great projectors. Much better than a lot of OEM cars on the road. Its the biggest upgrade I'd recommend getting done on a car.

I thought I had great output from my 30$ eBay Chinesium HID projectors, but now I get to really see why Morimoto and other respected brands are a lot better! Can't wait untill I get the money to get my own later!

I’ll go with g5r. I’m tired of the exaggerated slope on the Morimoto projectors. My mini 7.0’s throw light at street signs on the right, but I only get a couple hundred feet of light on the left. I’ve adjusted them as much as I can too.

Just used your kit to install these on my '18 3500 silverado, night and day difference vs using a morimoto HID kit on the stock projectors!

PLEASE put this against the G5R!! I've been waiting since June to do my retrofit with you guys since I was waiting in anticipation for this to come out. I do have to say I'm a bit disappointed, specifically regarding the blue coated lens which would give my CBI's a warmer color. I would love to see this put against the G5R to compare lux readings, and also compare bowing. The one thing I truly hate about the G5R is how the edges bow, and the lack of bright width compared to the 4.0. When I can see this put against the G5R I will be at your guys shop by Christmas to get my new headlights retrofitted!

This looks like an integrated beam design/pattern of the popular RX 350 cutoff shield into the 4.0 body. Has a nice color band right out of the box and no modding needed. Much cheaper and easier to retrofit than the larger RX350 projectors too.

Any chance we can get a direct comparison to a tuned RX-350 projector?

Can we get a comparison between the 5.0 and a G5r

Ceasar - any chance you could check if the new coated lenses would fit in a D2S 4.0. Might be a nice little budget upgrade to the other setups without replacing the entire setup.

Also, in addition to my other comment: I would LOVE to see these put against a tuned RX350 and compared for width and multiple-area lux readings (versus taking a lux reading only from that center hyperspot on the 5.0). I'm willing to pay more $$ for the tuned RX350 if they'll provide me the brightest, widest output that will put everything else on the road to shame.

not a fan of the new shield. they perfected the shield and step on the FX-R 3.0 wish they would bring that back or have that shield as an option in upcoming D2S

The G5R is around 690-740ish Lux compared to 550-570lux of the d2s 5.0. But remember the 4.0 light width is far better then the G5R so the 5.0 projector is the most useable especially if you are on low light roads alot where you want wider beams. Plus 550lux is more then enough light for any car. Also key factors are he used morimoto ballasts and Osram CBI lights. Denso ballasts will give you slightly higher lux same with using the new Osram CBA bulbs which are brighter(more lux) then the CBI lights used here. If you want the most lux increase then pair Denso ballast with the Osram CBB lights and you should be around 580-630lux total. You can take it a step further and do a shield drop mod on the d2s 5.0 to get even more lux.

Finally, a better way to lock down projectors, a tool.

Can we get the 5.0 shield and solenoid only as spare part?

Hope you'll still do a video showing the effect of a shield drop for us! (:
