In this lesson, I show you how I developed my single stroke roll speed. I know I am not the fastest, nor do I have aspirations to be the fastest. For me, I just like to have the technical facility just in case a musical situation presents itself where I need it. So I occasionally will work on developing more speed and control. Enjoy!

Very good lesson. I have been a drummer all my life and I am now 68. I have taken a five year lay off and am now working on getting back into playing again. I have some friends who are old like me and we just want to rehearse some straight ahead jazz together and I am now practicing to get back in shape. This single stroke lesson, on a towel on my bed mattress is getting me back in shape quickly! Great lesson for getting your fast single strokes in shape. Thanks.

I’ve got the short bursts but going in a constant 32nd note speed like that, is a bit harder but this is a big help, thanks drumeo!

I started watching drumeo hearing of it from a fellow regina drummer I am sure you heard of Chris Dimas (very good young drummer ) and always find it awesome.i have always played self taught by ear yet the teachings help all of us.i especially liked the One easy beat that sounds hard video.when you break it down it IS such a cool simple beat...keep em coming:)
