Through lush imagery of fall, the filmmakers reflect on their day to day lives in a new country and what this new beginning means to them.

Douglas College provides an English Language Instruction Program For Newcomers to Canada. In this cohort of immigrant and refugee youth, Reel Youth has facilitated filmmaking workshops to spark creativity, provide language immersion, and encourage young people to raise their voice.

In this video poetry program, new Canadians and program staff gathered with Reel Youth facilitators, where they were introduced to principles of filmmaking, and created these short video poems about issues they were passionate about as well as experiences as newcomers and in the LINC Engage program.

Our partnership with Douglas College over the years has been incredible. They have deepening our understanding of community work, and created friendships between our facilitators and the youth that continue to this day.
