I may not try and justify the MC owning slaves but I do try and justify any piece of fiction that makes up a slur for a made up creature with the fact that humans suck no matter the world and so of course if there are things other than humans there gonna make slurs for them rather than different ethnic groups of humans

Also it's really funny when someone just randomly get called it unless the term is "demihuman" which literally means "partly human" we've gotten way too used to it and I think the historically accurate version known as "vandemon" is way better especially since that one means "part demon"

And if you wanna know where the term vandemon comes from it fell out of favor over 200 years ago and is only really used in old Irish songs typically in a self deprecating sense or referring to Africa because vandemons land is an old name for it but the term itself refers to nearly everyone who isn't English because there clearly the only pure ones those bunch of fecking eejits
