BEYOND LIBERATION PART II: In Search of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Показать описание
On Sunday, September 04, 2022 THE STATE OF THE NATION panel initiated a conversation examining Uganda's state of political affairs beyond liberation. The central question was whether it was time to establish a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to look into the atrocities that happened during the so called "Liberation War" that brought the NRM government in power.
All panelists during that conversation concurred that a comprehensive Truth and Reconciliation Commission was long overdue for Uganda. Furthermore, the panelists advised that we broadly engage other stakeholders to ensure that our thoughts are in alignment with majority Ugandans.
This conversation seeks to survey other esteemed analytical minds to gauge the need for Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Uganda.
The State of the Nation's Henry Ssali engages with Bazil Mwotta, Sayuni Hellen, and Julius Mitala to further interrogate the thoughts of Ugandans regarding establishing a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to mitigate the growing anger toward the country's established leadership since 1986.
