Hold on, the radio station was airing radio on low power tv and using the Atari Video Music as a visualizer? That’s rad af and it’s sad it had to end so soon!

0:34 I just love the way the station ends so suddenly.

Thank you for listening to WVOA 87.7 FM. With great sadness, this concludes our broadcasting on 87.7, due to the FCC no longer allowing any stations in the U.S. to broadcast on this frequency. We are moving all programming over to WSIV 106.3 FM, and 1540 AM. Please reset your preset buttons to 106.3 FM and 1540 AM, The Voice. Well bless God and glory ha- *static*

WHY IS THIS STATION USING EARTHBOUND PSI MOVES

Damn, this is really heartbreaking in a "you really shouldn't be that upset over this, it's seriously not too big of a deal" sorta way. It's like how newspapers, home phones, and dial-up are all similarly being phased out in the wake of something superior. I guess it's just a little bittersweet - they've all had their time in the spotlight and it's tough to see them go, but we're all better off because of them. God speed, all.

I am very sad that analog television is completely wiped out. It was always hold a special place in my heart.

This station is broadcasting on a frequency shared by analog TV, due to the analog TV shutdown, the areas that were also used by FM radio are also not allowed to be used

Analog was my childhood. It’s heartbreaking knowing it’s no longer around or legal.

0:34-0:36 The sudden cutoff before this guy could even finish his saying was startled me, lol.

On July 20, 2023, a FCC "Report and Order" stated that WVOA-LD would be permitted to apply to resume separate audio operations on FM 87.7, using a modified version of the ATSC 3.0 "NextGen TV" standard.

^ It’s not dead yet.

Hundreds of years from now, this may be one of the few firsthand records of an end of an era, where TV was truly free. Thank you for preserving it.

While researching this station I discovered something new on its Wikipedia page.
