I have a 2012 with 74, 000 miles and I absolutely love it. It still turns heads and I get a lot of compliments. I have had it 8 years. Black on outside with cognac interior.

I’m from Europe, and owned countless Mercedes models, from 70’s w116 to 2015 S550 and 2013 GLK 350 which I own now … you don’t need a warranty, what you need is to make sure it was owned by some retired elderly people who serviced it regularly and kept it in their garage .. pull Carfax, stay away from AMG, those are hot rods and were driven hard … also make sure you have few grand on the side for emergency repairs … I have credit card dedicated only to my S550, and if it needs something, it gets fixed right away … take care of your Benz, and it will run a long time …

These older Benzes are really tempting because of the amount of car you get for the money. As long as it has good detailed service history and everything checks out good on the test drive then you're golden. Still keep a $3000 "just in case" fund. I follow that rule with my MB and it too is 10 years old and running solid. Great review as always.

Yea I’ve had mine since 2014 and it is at 125, 000 miles now. It is a head turner get so many compliments. As far as maintenance the most problems I’ve had is with the sensors 500 dollar repair job manybe once a year. 300 towards 2 oil changes per year. Reliable as hell. Anybody would love it 🥰🥰🥰 it’s amazing

Recently, my friend was telling me to get a car with a V8 engine, specifically Mercedes. So I started looking and shopping around, and luckily I came across this video, so that way I know what to be looking for when wanting to make a purchase of a CLS Class. Thank you for the informative video!

I just got rid of my 2013 version of this same car and bought a Cadillac ct5 sport. The cls had 88000 miles when I turned it in. I have also owned two BMW 750li’s. The cls550 is no joke to maintain. Although cheaper maintenance than my 750s, as this car aged, stuff just broke. Also the most annoying part was that the plastic button coverings just started to rub/come off. I got an estimate from Mercedes on the cost to replace just the buttons on the steering wheel, they came back with $950! In my last year of ownership, I sunk $7700. The estimate for the next repair was 2800 which would have brought my costs for the year to over $10K. Although I loved the car, I got rid of it. So remember if you buy a used car, the maintenance is not used!

Love love love mine. Got a good laugh when you mentioned the turn signal stalk...I hit the cruise control for months after acquiring my CLS550.

Mine has 170k and it’s still chugging along beautifully! Major problems I’ve had so far since I bought it at 117k back in 2019 was water pump. I have changed CV axils and some bushings. The air compressor went out at 165k but only a 430 dollar fix. I also started to get a skip in the trans and it ended up needing an additive which fixed the problem. It cost about 700 to swap fluid and add the additive. Other than that nothing has happened. Just took it on a 2k mile road trip and it did great. I have heard that after 215k miles or so the turbos go out and you might as well at that point replace the whole motor so that’s something to think about my mechanic said it would be about 3500 for the turbos and they have to drop the motor to install them which is about 4k so 7500 to replace turbos or for around 10 to 11k you can just get a new motor installed with turbos on it.

I love mine. It turned me into a mechanic tho. Im always fixing something and I have invested about 20k in tools now. I now fix all of my other cars at home.

the hidden gem cls is the cls55, was only manufactured for 1 year in the states, beautiful 4 door benz with coupe like styling and a pretty much bullet proof supercharged 500HP 5.5L V8, that also has a ton of mod potential.

I have a CLS550 year 2014 115, 000 miles I absolutely love my car but we are about to part ways. No major issues until now 😔 My head light went out and I thought the repair would be something as simple as changing a bulb come to find out I have to replace the whole system which is about $5, 600 I'm not paying that for one light and then my blind spot light was inoperative in the rear right side and that's 1, 000 bucks with labor😢. There is no way I'm paying 7, 000 to replace 2 lights. And if the other light go out that's a whole nother $5, 600 I'm good but other than that i have truly enjoyed my car

I'm looking to purchase one at the 60-80k mark. How's maintenance? This man sold me on this. For me, it's either a C300 or this one.

Great review Kevin. Regarding air suspension, just one word folks: Strutmaster. That's what I'm going to do when my air suspension on my EQUUS goes out. Look at his extensive videos on the LS 460 and how he went through the process of air to normal strut conversion.

I drove my previous CLS 350 amg model 2012 for 420000 km over 8 years. It was reliable and impressive. Sold it few months ago and upgraded to GLE 53 ..

The issue was a camshaft which was showing trouble-shooting and check engine was always on. Otherwise it is solid and fancy classy-looking car.
