This is great for a 'never made a journal' gal. I would love to make one, and you don't even need to have the folded in bits on the first go. It will be fun putting one together, following what you have shown, so thank you for the simplifying of putting a journal together. They would make such lovely gifts for Christmas/birthday. Would have never thought of using craft knife for cutting right on score/cutting tool. Genius. And it seems to be more precise where one WANTS the cut vs having to line it up right….argh!

Thank you for mentioning using a regular craft blade when you can't get a replacement blade! I got a Fiskars trimmer at a thrift store but I can't find a replacement carriage that houses the rotary blade. I really wanted to use it for cutting heavy cardstock as it seems more economical to replace the little circular blades. And !he crafting knives are cheaper yet- problem solved! 😂
