Hydronic heating Van floors is an amazing thing to have in your van if you can build it in. This is going to be a multi part series about the installation of a hydronically heated floor as part of my North American Vanlife Industry Tour series. Just Roaming Design is helping me with the install, and we will start this series with the cutting of the templates for the floor, as well as my reasoning behind getting a hydronic heating floor and getting introduced to the shop.

What is the material that you cut the grooves for the pex tubing? I understand Lizard Skin is sprayed on the van's metal floor. What is the next layer called?

You mean the good old Roach Coach, there's use to be about 2 or 3 more names for the Food Wagons, Choke and Puke. I enjoyed a lot of them but had one or 2 that lived up to their nick names. Oh, what you showed at 19:55 time line.

IMO, nothing gives you a better living experience than radiant floor heat. Even baseboard radiant heat is way better than forced air. I use to live up in the CO mountains, and since there is no AC needed, lots of houses have radiant heat. You can tell as soon as you walk in the house. it is so nice.

What is the the weight of your van off the assembly line and what will be the estimated weight when you have completed the fit out ? Also what will be the change in fuel consumption do you think ?

Buy a piece of ground and build a pole barn to park your van in. That van will be obsolete junk in a few years.
