Sometimes the issue is people keep dying, its not even damage, a stupid issue is always trying to get to DPS cause people don't want participate

My favorite was last night. "Hey man the surge is solar stasis and we're running rockets, swap solar a switch to apex instead of your gl. He swaps to a arc linear

tbh i find it so much more fun to just let everyone run what they have fun with and beat the boss through skill alone rather than relying on crutches like most high end players

Honestly, whenever i try to suggest a good dmg dealing weapon, most of the times peeps just ignore it and try to push through, that on its own is why most (not all) raid teams fall apart in middle of the run.

I don’t know why I watch this channel. I don’t play destiny, but for some reason I just can’t stop watching these shorts. Makes me wish I played 😂

I play with 2 of my little brothers, one's a Titan, the other a Warlock, and I'm a Hunter, when I see the damage numbers after a Dungeon, I'm shocked that I do less damage, we just joke about our "low numbers" sometimes, but to us it's all about having fun.

Sometimes fun is more important and takes precedence over just “being good”. If I’m in a raid, yeah I’ll run my best build for what I need to do but not all runs are specifically for just getting it over with. Sometimes people are just playing for fun and I think that’s something you need to see Clyde. Streaming so long ofc you’ll want people to run what’s best, but if it’s not fun to use then nobody wants to run that build after a long day at work.

My favourite are the people who leave lfgs after a wipe or two but never volunteered for any mechanics.

Be chill = not getting it done
Know what to do = assholes
Equipped and motivated = beating and enjoying the raid

I agree but you gotta respect the "lemme run this and if it sucks ill swap"

The most important part about your kit as a guardian is the character screen. You can change your stuff. If you're struggling with stasis hunter, maybe try goldie or tether. If you find yourself uncomfortable with rocket launchers because of unfortunate accidents, try an LFR, and so on. The best tool you have is not being tied to one weapon or loadout, sometimes it's better to sacrifice your grenade for a little more survivability, sometimes it's better to take one for the team and put on div, sometimes it's better to not be a one trick pony and adapt to the situation

Last night it was this i kept telling these guys use arc put on curias and they kept refusing staying on solar "because arc is shit and i cant stay alive" till the damn thing fell apart then got in another goup who understands first try

As a Sherpa clan, the problem we face is people not wanting to use the "meta". We were on Pantheons caretaker for 2 hours because 2 people were using edge transit with envious, destabilizing. We tried for like 30 mins to tell them that that was an ad clear weapon, not a DPS weapon. Usually I'm cool with people using whatever because we can usually do enough damage with our 4 stack, but when you're 10 levels under, everyone needs to pitch in.

I became a Clyde fan when I saw him stand on business earlier this year. NGL He hasn't let me down. Optimizing is king. Team synergy takes you further. Leave your egos at the 🚪

Usually I’m on board with these kinds of takes, but this one I don’t really agree with and it’s mostly just because of the way it’s worded. I agree that a ton of people use idiotic loadouts, but I disagree with the fact that people wipe out of a lack of dps. 90% of the time, teams wipe due to mechanic mistakes or enemy deaths. Can killing a boss in one less phase help? Sure, but the vast majority of the time if you have to sacrifice survivability resulting in deaths you’re going to wipe just as much as before.

(This sort of advice really only applies to master raids, pantheon, and contest) the “best in slot” loadout doesn’t really exist for hard raid content. It’s something that is determined by your team composition, your individual and team skill, your current survivability, and current dps.

Doesn’t matter if one guy COULD be doing a ton more dps if when they swap and sacrifice survivability they die and cause a wipe anyway. The key is meeting people where they’re at and there’s more than one way to change things up. Having everyone on max dps is useless if youre still 2 phasing either way. All this kind of mindset does is create toxic raiding environments, push new players away from raiding, and often result in more wipes.

Basically if you’re wanting DPS, use Hunter. That class has the majority of top DPS supers in the game. They also have, by far, the most versatile set of options available for most activities, whether it be damage, defence or containment.
You can use Titan for a number of roles too, though super damage and enemy containment aren’t quite as good as Hunter. Or if you want real variety of options, you could use Warlock for, you know, that 1 thing Warlock has.
In terms of weapons and potential damage, it could be lack of familiarity with certain types of weapons or what weapon/perk combination works best. Or maybe their RNG hasn’t been good enough to get them the “god roll” that players expect you to bring to the activity.

as someone who used to sherpa KF for new raiders in my clan/new light friends... when we'd get to Warpriest or Golgy, I'd always refer to those two encounters as "the filter bosses." as in my experience... most fireteams would fall apart on those encounters if teamwork was nonexistent.

The only restrictions i have for any fireteam i make is no lmgs for dps (except maybe tlord, xeno, or overture if the person can at least do some damage) and no double primary. Thats really all i care about. And ofc survivability. Stay up and do at least "okay" damage and we're cool

I agree but in many cases it's the jargon experienced players use which creates confusion. I'm always happy to learn and participate whenever an experienced fireteam lets me join... but that's the issue y'all forget the game is making money by onboarding new players, and dungeons and raids are very hard to do solo.

I've chosen one raid (VOG) and have been practicing solo for two months and proud to say I can now make it past the first encounter dolo.

Give new light players who want to learn a chance and cut back on the jargon or atleast explain to the new players what you mean and why you are doing something. Experienced players understand the mechanics of D2. New players are trying, and you can only learn from failer. 🍻

Now who wants to help me with the VOG raid?
