350z NRG WHEEL AND QUICK RELEASE INSTALL

Today we installed an NRG wheel, short hub, and quick release in my 2003 Nissan 350z. It's really easy with the right tools - you'll need a 19mm socket with a rachet, security torx bit (link to order below this), and a pick or flat head screwdriver. The steering wheel includes the allen wrench you'll need.

For the airbag DISCONNECT BATTERY AND LET SIT FOR 30 MIN TO 1 HR, the electrical system utilizes capacitors that store electricity in emergency situations for safety components such as the airbag, disconnecting then immediately messing with airbag will be as if the battery is still connected safety first

I think the aluminum ring is for the quick release, makes it so the horn fits tight and doesn't spin around.

If you ever watched a NASCAR race, you would be familiar with the expression of "getting up on the wheel". This translates to the steering wheel being close to your chest. Better leverage, quicker response or just being more aware of what's going on, can't say. When I dabbled in auto cross, old timer didn't think much of me being back away from the wheel, but that was what I was comfortable with. Important thing is feet at proper distance on pedals, then steering wheel location.
