I’m writing my AT memoir — only into my second year, and just finished writing about my Smokies section! Your video and my journaling is bringing back some great memories! Next year will be the year I met you all!🥰. More power to you all for grueling it through some cold, wet lonely period on the Trail! Better days are ahead!!

That’s great looking stone fireplace with a warm fire. I like your short quick updates.

Sometimes taking a slow day and sitting by the fire is just what you need. Simple is best. Thanks for sharing 😊

That next section from Mollie’s to Derrick’s Knob is a very beautiful but harder section. Watching that fire in Mollie’s brings back some good memories. Loving your videos.

Wow!! It's wild meeting you guys in Gatlinburg after seeing this video... who knew!!. You guys have changed my life, and I'm not a hiker, but you guys are around my age and make me want to try something adventurous. Love you guys, spirit, and thanks for taking a picture with me, and I can't wait to share your guys' adventures with my friends. I know it will affect them the same way 😅.
Happy Hiking, and my prayers are with you all every step of the way🙏🏾🫶🏾

I don't blame you for stopping. I think that is a shelter I spent a night in on my way thru the Smokies. I stopped before Mollies Ridge and stayed in a lovely little hollow that didn't have a shelter. I think it's wise to take some time to just get some extra rest and do something fun. Hang in there. Thinking of you. DDB.

Hello, this was definitely one of the coolest shelters ive seen on your adventures so far,
I can imagine between the desolation an the weather you can have down days,
When its wet, cold, an windy,

Even me someone who thrives in isolation would probably just need a boost.
Glad you could relax for a bit super glad you did a legendary fire to be cozy.
I was always surprised in the last video you had to have permits to hike through from Fontana dam,

Arent you allowed to just hike through the entire trail for free? Or is it a safety thing so they know whos out

We made a fire in that very fireplace. Thanks for firing it back up!

The Smokey’s were hard. Definitely had some down days there. I think it may have been the elevation. Just seemed off and harder than it should have been to get the miles in. The lady I was hiking with also felt the same. Once we got out of the Smokies everything improved.

What day is this? My boy Zeb got stuck in tha shelter before catlinburg Monday night .he said the winds were violent and the temps plummeted, changing the rain to snow.

I hope Gatlinburg wiped away the dread that sometimes seeps in on long hikes. You are covering difficult terrain.
