If you had an abortion, God most definitely still loves and wants a relationship with you. Christ died for you while you were a sinner, not when you had it all together (Romans 5:8). Your faith in Christ’s sacrifice makes you a brand new creation in Him. Old things have passed away and newness has come. And now all that matters is what Jesus Christ says about you now.

If your pregnancy happened without your consent, I want to assure you that God never willed that someone would take advantage of you. God only wants what is best for you. He wants your experience of sex to be within the security and commitment of marriage. He wants for you to have babies with the spouse He prepared for you to grow old with.

Your feelings of grief and sadness about your decision are valid. There was life in your womb. And that baby had your DNA. And even though it was not God’s will that the pregnancy would be terminated, He offers you forgiveness. You don’t have to be stuck in grief. God is near to the brokenhearted, and He wants to take away your mourning and clothe you in joy. Moving forward, you can help other women in a similar position who are going through this. God can take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for good. You can encourage other women to choose life. And you can share the good news of forgiveness through Christ to women who did not choose life.
