Wouldn't we say y = X^2/4p instead? As y is a function of x

I search for this on the FE Review Manual, because I'm studying for the Electrical exam, and in the book and the Online Manual the general equation is different, it said that
 x^2 = 2py, can you explain me why you said is x^2 = 4py?
