The early facial reconstructive surgeries have always commanded my respect. Brave patients! Brave drs! Ya gotta read some of those surgeons stories... the ones who wanted to help and KNEW they were flying blind: no precedence to follow, no mentors, no prosthesis', no nothing. Both patient and Drs... that took true Guts. I bow to them all.
But that brain surgery...😳 That's the epitome of last resort of those times.

1:43 This brought back memories: We use to have a greengrocer's shop, and in the beginning my father went door to door with his goods with a horse and a cart.
The hose knew exactly where the regular costumers lived and stopped at their door on it's own.
Those are long gone times.

Beers and tattoos for kids make you realise things weren't always decent back in the day. I loved that photo of the four little kids in 'the band.' If that was taken in the 40s, they might still be with us!
