thank you Michele. I like how you get straight to the point.

I get tubes and put the paint in full pans on my pallet. But i do have 3 half pan sets i got to experience the brands. Then I get the tubes in the brands I like. I'm newly in love with Rembrandt ultramarine deep and cerulean blue. Take care Michele 🙂 ❤

Pans usually. Tube paint is often wasted unless I put it in pans anyway.

Good advice, thank you. It's good to have both.🎨🖌

I keep "contaminating colors" and/or colors that I only use a tiny bit of ( like phthalo blue and green, caput mortum, titanium buff) in half pans. It prevents them from messing up my other colors, or saves space in the palette.

While tubes are more economical, I do sometimes buy a half or full pan of a color at first (or the tiny 5ml or 8ml tubes), to see if I like the color or brand. Then I might buy tubes later.

I have a large plastic folding palette, and I've got tube paint in most wells, and half and full pans sitting in some wells and in the mixing areas.

It's a glorious mess!!

and i know some people who squeeze out their tubes into pans and let them dry there.
