Ossie Schectman scored the first basket in nba history, Joe Fortenberry was the first to dunk, Chris Ford scored the first 3 pointer. This game has come a long way. From great to George Mikan, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell to Michael Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, to Lebron, Curry and beyond, it’s still evolving. He died 48 years to the day before I was born

I’m born and raised and still live in his hometown of Almonte Ontario Canada. He was actually just inaugurated into the Canadian hall of fame this past weekend. 😊 we have a bronze statue of him in the centre of town and his homestead is still standing as well. 😊

Love this one! One of my favorite shows the red green show, a character attempted to say he was the one who created basketball ( he always told tall tales) and claimed he was an cia agent who worked as a sport inventor. The other guys didn’t believe it, but then one said wait a minute, remember that time he was on the drunk and disorderly and dribbling all over the courtroom. Rip to a great inventor for sure

Hey Lamont, I'm so glad to see you here in lawrence ks, . I live here in lawrence. The reason why there is a officer sitting in the cemetery is probably because of the homeless transients that have had a history of vandalism, drugging and fires, etc in the public parks and cemeteries. Sad but the truth. Thanks for covering James Naismith. Naismith has memorials all over lawrence and on KU campus.

I am surprised that his headstone is so simple. But maybe that was Mr. Naismith final wish?

Honestly I'm not really into sports, but basketball has a place in my heart forever. I really enjoy playing it, it's a great workout that's for sure. Thanks for this informative video Lamont! 😊

This is my hometown where the B-ball hall of fame is at. I said that because some folks swear that the Hall of Fame is located elsewhere.
