I live in Japan, and we don't have any imaam available to teach me maqam. So I was searching for YouTube channel, but almost every channel was really high level, I mean, I could not keep up, as a beginner and someone who doesn't understand Arabic. I can sing well, actually, because I used to learn song in Japanese school. And I can imitate Qaris voice by listening to them. But whenever I try to recite Quran by not imitation but my own melody, I'm not able to do it anymore. I can not catch the vibe of the meaning, only reading by Arabic, so I usually read my mother tongue first, and then Arabic, one line by one line, so that I can get the emotion. I hope that this channel will help me. I found it today. And also I’m a female, so sometimes I can not imitate imaam’s deep voice.

Assalamu alaikum sheikh Bakeer. I'm from USA. I'm new to Islam and my arabic is but that of a newborn baby. Quran recitation always gets the best of me, my eyes can't help but shed tears. Such beautiful sweet melody with, as you stated, so many layers and flavors. I'm starting to find myself throughout the day murmuring, trying to recite -in my poor arabic- nashees and Quran verses.
