I remember when Sony FIRST talked about this YEARS ago and it was a wild announcement, and even then I remember how they were focusing it on being a technology platform. There's a consistency to this announcement which I think speaks positively to how serious they are. Are they serious about making their own car under their own brand? Not so much but I think they are very serious about bringing this platform of sensor suites, visual communication, user interface, etc to market whether in their own collab with Honda as shown here or as something they license out to other manufactuers.
