The Mad Max cars are WELL protected by those magicians. With the help of their magical tools and the saint water they create the invisible shields over the Ruzzian armored vehicles. So it's very hard to break through it. Comedy gold.

Tanks up close to the shore are to take out landing craft. They'd be hidden behind something during the barrage, but the barrage will let up when the landing craft show up.

Appreciate the coverage about cities planting flowers. Faster these things improve the better

Glad they made it out, very disappointed with the command decisions. Hopefully Ukrainian commanders take a long look at these recent failure and learn from them.

19:01 Its good for morale, Denys. I can't imagine planting flowers being a significant expense. It gives people something to do and focus on instead of thinking about possible impending defeat.

Taiwan does not have shooting range for tanks on land but shooting out in the ocean. Common also in Sweden.
They are not shooting boats but “tank targets”

Hey denys, as a horticulturalist and gardner I am well aware how we as humans need green spaces. but in a war situation peace is a president that is paramount, then we can restore the gardens once the invaders have been repelled.

The Taiwan training drills are for landing party's, not shooting at ships.

~22:10 Yes, Denys, in this case I strongly agree with you. It's still very early to try to predict the outcome of this. Just look at how much different the situation looks now compared to two weeks ago. Just as you said.

I do think there is something to be said for trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for civilians, and those people do need jobs, too. But, for a city so close to the front... flowers definitely shouldn't be a priority.

Good to see our new Dutch gouvernement keeps on supporting Ukraine, just like the last one did. I personally didn't worry about that because the Netherlands are a land of coalitions so not 1 political party gets it's way 100% but the media abroad were a bit nervous about it. So yes, don't worry, we'll keep on supporting Ukraine, just like we have always done. Slava Ukraini!

Back in March, I was in Lyman (not far from Izyum, ) and although it was damaged by the fighting (one church in particular had shrapnel damage on the INSIDE, ) the streets were clean and there was a work party giving the street trees their late-winter pruning.
This struck me as a positive sign. The people were not going to let the damage and loss overwhelm them.
However, the city of Pokhrovsk, would be wise to build defences first. If they are short-handed, they can call for volunteers.

Ukraine is still operating under Soviet doctrine of insisting that unless forces are ordered to withdraw they must hold their positions until they are killed. Giving local commanders authority to advance when they can or withdraw when they must is essential to western strategy.
