Franzbrötchen is a very North-German thing. Hamburg, Bremen, Lübeck etc. - there you find them at basically every good bakery and they make them fresh in the morning. Very traditional in the north. During the week a warm and sweet Franzbrötchen, a Weltmeisterbrötchen with Butter and Dutch Gouda and a nice Yoghurt is my favourite quick breakfast. On the weekends of course a real Bauernfrühstück (German style fried potatoes with bacon cubes, onions, fried eggs and pickles as a side).

They are from Hamburg, so you mostly find them in the north of Germany :)

You have to go to Hamburg! They sell them in other northern cities as well but only the ones from Hamburg are good. There you can could go to almost any bakery and would have the best Franz Brötchen. If you never had them, they taste like a less sweet version of cinammon rolls

They are a specialty from Hamburg, you can find it there in every bakery and most supermarkets. There are even shops that only sell Franzbrötchen. It is also pretty common all over northern germany. It supposedly derived from a dish, that the french brought to hamburg during the french occupation of Hamburg in the early 1800.

Franzbrötchen are probably one of the bakery items with the widest margin between good and bad ones. Can’t tell how yours was obviously but try them at different shops and over time you’ll find one that’s so awesome you’ll always get it when you’re there

You HAVE to try Baumkuchen! Its kinda hard to find but its THE BEST desert ive EVER eaten. It has chockolate on the outside and a micx out of Vanilla and Chockolate cake in the middle. Its called like that because the inside looks like the rings of a tree. PLS try it its an EASY 11/10!!! Love ur vids btw its so cool to see non-german peoples perspective on germany❤❤❤

For savory:
A real warm salted butter-stuffed/piped Bretzel? Just the thought makes my mouth go swoosh 🌊
Something sweet:
Another super tasty piece is Marzipanrolle❤ it's one of my favourites to get from a bakery 😚

In northern Germany you find Franz Brötchen in every single supermarket (if they have an aile with freshly baked goods). Even in Aldi and Lidl.
Even the kiosk in my school had them lol.
