Since AI will cause a lot of anxiety for people, perhaps, one of the first application should be psychotherapy. Everyone who has experienced psychotherapy say it is beneficial. However, for most people psychotherapy is prohibitively expense. For example, AI psychotherapy could be a requirement for the recently unemployed.

I hear AI being touted as being able to invent things no human ever thought of. I don't think that is accurate. Many human technological advances were the result cross technology development. I think the favorite example of the bicycle makers named Wilbur and Orville Wright who were the first to successful build an airplane. What AI could do is accelerate those types of advances. Perhaps AI can cross disciplines in ways we ourselves have not already stumbled upon. In that way, AI could teach us new ways to think by combining the things people have already thought of in new ways.

I am not sure what people are saying about AI is accurate. I first noticed a couple of decades ago when IBM taught a computer to play chess. It was promoted as man against machine. But, I think that is false. AI does not invent anything new. AI is simply an aggregator of human knowledge. Gary Kasparov was not beaten by a machine called Big Blue. He was beaten by hundreds of IBM engineers aggregating their collective knowledge.
