From one Josh to another, I love the Dragonborn as a race. They've always been my favorites ever since I learned of D&D

Good evening from Australia Josh. I've got a thing in my homebrew world where Dragons and Giants are extinct and their descendants (kobolds, Goliaths, firbolgs, dragonborn, loxodon, etc) are left behind to work out what they want to do now.

I feel like ideas on why you should play "this player race" come very easily for the exotic races like warforged and dragonborn. So what I'm interested in is "Why you should play a human!"

That little *Click* where it swaps from The Dragon Born to Dragonborn had me rolling.

Not sure if im alone in this or not, but I would be really interested to get a dedicated video talking about characters you've played or played with and what made them memorable. Maybe sort of a walk through of how your play style has evolved over your d&d career. I think there is likely a lot that new players and dms could learn from something like that and your creativity is a huge inspiration for me at least so it would be really cool to get a peek inside your thought process.

The amount of time put into this “why you should play x” video is amazing, as with the warforged video! Not sure if you have a list of player races that you add to similarity to Monster Mondays, but I’d like to once again recommend kobolds for a possible next topic :)

Really like that crystal texture on the gem dragonborn and that flexing dragonborn has some junk in the trunk lol, great work as always 👍

I have a Black Dragonborn necromancer who was created in the palace of Tiamat, but Vecna freed him and turned him into an incredibly powerful necromancer. Dragonborns are some of my favorite races in D&D. I like your purple, yellow, and orange Dragonborns. I have an Elven wizard god who has a purple dragon as his familiar. Dragonborns need wings! It will complete that full look of Dragonborns. I've very impressed with the amount of time and effort that went into this video. You're art is absolutely fantastic!! keep up the good work and can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Yeah, out of the four D&D's I've actually played that include the fantasy world of normal D&D, I've always played Dragonborn. They are by far my favorite race, probably just because of my love for Dragons. Currently, on my fifth run of D&D I've decided to play yet another Dragonborn, I decided I wanted to play a Barbarian/Fighter and had to choose a 'color'. I spoke with my DM about an idea of having a Fang Dragonborn, someone who doesn't possess a breath weapon but makes up for it with a boost to the other stats, primarily strength.

The Dragonborn kind of got bits and pieces of the Draconians from Dragonlance melded into them with that modified slaves to chromatic dragons I feel, especially considering the big jump in lore between 3.5 Dragonborn and 4 ed. If I remember right, the official 4th ed Dragonlance stuff even used modified Dragonborn stats for their various Draconian types. It gave me half an idea to write up a quick campaign set similar to Caverns of Time from Warcraft, where the main party was sent back in time to various events in the Dragonlance timeline from far in the future to make certain they go according to plan and that other outside influences do not alter them to greatly. I figure it would have eventually turned into Time Squad in a way. I never did end up expanding on it, but was a fun thought.

Question for the community (this is Dragonborn related/adjacent and would love to hear people's thoughts). What would happen if a Dracolich's phylactery were to come into contact with Tiamat???
The reason I ask is due to a character idea I have.
A Topaz Gem Dragonborn is forced into the service of a cult of a Dracolich. A ritual is performed on him but oddly enough seems fine and isn't sure what this cult actually did. Turns out they had fused the Dracolich's Spirit Gem to his gem covered body. A group of Adventurers attack the cults base and slay the Dracolich. When it's soul travels to it's phylactery, the process turns the Dragonborn into a Undead Warlock. In the chaos the Dragonborn flees the cults base. Think it could be fun to have the group of Adventurers be "antagonists" hunting down the Dragonborn and also having the cult secretly help the Dragonborn out due to their loyalty to their master. Was thinking from there the PC can be RPing the Dracolich's Soul trying to take over the Dragonborn. Would you think if a Dracolich were to inhabit an adventurer's body, would they go on a grand quest to try to take Tiamat's body (would it work due to Tiamat being considered a Fiend, if it did work what type of undead monstrosity would rise)? Or would it have more short term goals/want to get out of a Dragonborn's body due to it being "lesser"? Appreciate anyone who read this, can't wait to hear folks thoughts. Hope everyone has a blessed day!

This was a fantastic watch. Even as someone who has been playing a dragonborn for almost 2 years now this got my mind going about detailing out more things in my backstory and lorebuild with my DM for my village since we have yet to see it in game. It was really fun watching all of the options being shown as well in a swapping method with the horns and so on all on the same base dragonborn, very nice presentation style.

Loved it, as always!! The idea, that wool or silk would be hard for them to wear is amazing!!

Mechanically they feel lacking, but I still love them because of what they are, not because of what they do

I'm a fan of your Monster Mondays, but I definitely appreciate these videos as well! Always a pleasure to be here, Josh!

Am I the only one who was rather disappointed when finding out that they didn’t canonically have tails? Like I can understand not having wings but tails? It doesn’t even have to have an attack attached to it, it just seems like it’s a given aesthetically

This series is just amazing! Really looked forward to this thank you for going through all the effort to make these because honestly they’re the best. I agree with the why you should play a human, elf etc too it would be just as entertaining I’m sure :)

In my world, Dragonborn are unnatural beings created from magic rituals from both Bahamut and Tiamat's worshippers who wanted to create a people for each of them as they thought it would be the greatest gift you could possibly give a god. However, they weren't created during the great with the giants, contrary to what most people would assume. Unlike Metallic Dragonborn Chromatic Dragonborn can hatch Dragonborn of different colours as long as each parent is the right type of colour, purple from red and blue, green from yellow and blue etc. Since they are an unnaturally occurring species, there is no consistency between an individual's appearance and their parents besides their scale colour, so one that closely resembles either of their parents is incredibly rare.

BTW: I would really love a deep dive on Orcs. Even though you've already done a Monster Monday video on them.
