The father is the worst. He never believed in his own daughter and Mizuki's ex is also horrible dumping him just because Sayaka is a shut-in. What a joke for two suffering from a great loss that now that Mizuki has his own studio and Sayaka bouncing back from being a shut-in to being the best sister ever.

Mizuki got really dumped by his ex because she hates the idea of taking care of a shut-in sister and his father is no good either, having an affair while you literally have a family. Kinda wanted to see the faces of the two as both Sayaka and Mizuki proved them wrong. Both the dad and the ex don't deserve them at their best.

So The reason Sayaka was a shut-in was likely her dad. Finding out he's a Cheating scumbag likely caused her to shut down. This is why she opened back up after he was out of the picture, and even helped give him the Karma he deserved. The fact her Mom and Mizuki backed her up and supported her throughout is what helped her keep from falling too far down, so she was more than happy to help when they needed it most. That's what a good family does.

Aftermath: Many years later... the father tried to return to the picture. As expected, he acted like nothing had ever happened. It turns out his mistress took the money from his already crumbling business and walked out on him, basically because he had outlived his usefulness to her. However, they were all ready in case he came back, since they knew about it all. They had reported his wrongdoings to his parents, Mizuki and Sayaka's grandparents, and various other relatives. Mizuki and Sayaka called him by his given name instead of "father" or "dad", clearly indicating they want nothing to do with him. His parents removed him from their will and all relatives now see him as a stranger. He tried to play the "I raised you" card, but they reminded him of his failures and told him to leave and never come back and if he ever shows up, they will call the police. They managed to get a restraining order against him. He then vanished into oblivion, never to be heard of again.
As for Mizuki's ex, it turns out he found the real reason she dumped him. Not surprising, she was cheating on him with a supposed investor. However, he was no investor. He was a con artist who tricked her into signing up for a loan as a guarantor, then grabbed all of the money and fled into oblivion, leaving her to be chased constantly by debt collectors. She one day met Mizuki, but Sayaka and Mikawa were present too. He begged for a second chance, but Mizuki revealed he's in a relationship with Mikawa san and that he knows the real reason he was dumped. Sayaka berated her for calling her a shut-in even though she makes as much money as her brother, and Mikawa told her she knews everything and that she should stay away from Mizuki or else "there will be trouble". She tried to ask for money directly, but was told no and to leave immediately. Realizing it was her loss all along, she left. She is still fleeing from place to place from the debt collectors.

In an alternate universe...

The real reason why Mizuki's ex dumped him wasn't because of Sayaka being a shut in. It was because the ex was already having an affair with Mizuki's dad, which became the catalyst for his parents' divorce. And the kicker is that the ex isn't the dad's first cheating partner. There was someone else involved before but those two broke things off for unknown reasons.

i kinda hate how this ended, the story was great untill the end like alot of the story was left off screen, the dad's suffering off screen, we dont know what happened to the ex, nothing happened with the new girl he met just him talking about how cute she was, and the sister is like mmhmm now yall together but that was really it. Like we didnt get the dad apologizing or nothing, just an empty feeling ending which is why it sucks for me to give it a 5/10 the lackluster ending hurt it so much
