Richard G. Mitchell scored this adaptation of Jack London's sea adventure starring Tim Roth, Sebastian Koch, Neve Campbell and Stephen Campbell Moore about a brutal captain named Wolf Larsen (Koch), who together with his rebellious crew rescues snob theatre critic Van Weyden (Campbell Moore) and pretty Maud (Campbell) who he finds at sea. Wolf commands his surly sailing ship, The Ghost, through sheer ruthlessness and ego, whilst pursued by his brother Death Larsen (Roth) who captains a steam ship called The Macedonia. It is the unlucky fate of Van Weyden, that he should find himself on board the Ghost and under the service of the Sea Wolf. The ruthless Wolf Larsen wants to test out his theories about survival of the fittest. In this scene Wolf excerpts his position of authority over the crew whilst playing sadistic games with the lives of two of his crew. The score was recorded in Sofia by The Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.
