Personalised care means people have choice and control over the way their care is planned and delivered. It is based on ‘what matters’ to them and their individual strengths and needs.

Personalised care represents a new relationship between people, professionals and the health and care system. It provides a positive shift in power and decision making that enables people to have a voice, to be heard and be connected to each other and their communities.

Thank you for sharing this presentation! What a wonderful approach you all have to childbirth & caring for birthing people and families. I wish this was the model of care for pregnant people in the US (where I live). I'm working to help my community shift to better maternity care in many of the ways highlighted in this video. I want birthing people to understand their choices and feel fully supported in their care! I'd love any suggestions about how to implement similar care models here, and how to spread the word about birthing choices and self-empowerment. 🙂
