Call traveling
Call carrying
Bring hand checking outside of three point line and illegal screens

As a PE coach, I used to make 3 point shots worth 2, 2s worth 3, and lay ups worth 4 just to avoid 90% of the games being bricked 3s and half court shots by these kids

That’s why I love players like Derozan, Booker, Jimmy Butler.. they still kept that mid range game alive

Take away the hand check rule and make the game more physical again

The bigger problem is the strong tilt towards offense. Bring back the handchecking. Allow two steps for dunks NOT FOUR. Tone down the foul calls.

As a basketball coach, I have a drill where my team runs a full court game for 15 minutes (no subs) but the catch is they can’t dribble. This stopped them from camping around the 3 pt line. They hated it but learned to move off ball and find cutting lanes. It also led us to being one of the few teams in my area that still value driving it in over a 3pt shot. Heck at one point, we were winning pretty good, they ran that drill in game for a solid 6 minutes before half.!

I loved it when Steph Curry was emerging around 2014/2015 and had a unique style. The Warriors were one of the first teams that were able to actually have an up and down open game, guys spreading out with wide open 3s. It was amazing seeing a playing style like this in the NBA finals.

Sadly though, now everyone, even in pickup street games, just want to be 3-point hero ballers. Playing pick up matches now are so 1 dimensional, it's boring. Yet, the best shot still always will be a shot in the paint. It always has been.

What’s funny about this is I remember when they said golden state can’t win a ring this way. Now everyone is doing it! 😂

This is exactly why I love nikola jokic so much. His play making is perfection and his passes are so creative that you get to see a much bigger variety when watching the nuggets vs a lot of nba teams.

Really hoping the Jokics play-style helps shape the nbas future because it’s much more fun to watch so many creative and interesting plays than the constant three point attempts discussed in the video

I watched Chicago vs Milwaukee a few nights ago. It's rare for me to watch regular season games these days. In the 2nd quarter, on 6 straight possessions there was a 3 taken. 3 possessions by Chicago and 3 by Milwaukee. On 2 of them, a guy had a nice move to the basket and an open layup and PASSED back out to someone at the 3 point line and they missed!!! Wth! Shaq and BJ are right! They're running the same plays lol Lord have mercy i miss the specialists of the early 2000s. Shooters shot, rebounders crashed the boards, and defenders tried to lock somebody up. 💯

As a jazz fan in the 90’s it was like watching a symphony beautifully orchestrated on the offensive side. Was so fun to watch. Coach Sloan hated the 3pt shot. Those teams would shoot 8 a game. Now watching the jazz is mostly frustrating even during the Gobert and Mitchell era when they were good.

How about calling carrying the ball, double dribbling, traveling, three seconds in the lane, and the five-second inbound violations? To start, the NBA could emphasize consistent officiating and rule enforcement.

They refuse to call carries, everyone travels every possession, they let these guys flop and get away with it. It’s a shitshow

Mid 80's to the Late 90's was the best time to watch Basketball. So much action..

That's why I love DeRozan. The best mid-range player today.

Wemby shooting huge volume of threes is literally absurd.

High screen into a 3. It’s every other possession I swear. And most big men are expected to be able to shoot from 3 or they get less play time.

I miss Vincent Carter's dunks and 360⁰ dunks and layups that were always amazing to watch.😢

A gurl told me " one thing about change it dont change". The lane got widened because of Wilt, the 24 second clock was implemented, Charles Barkley couldnt back you down in the post, zone defence was outlawed then implemented, no hand checking, no forearm in the back defensively. What disappointes me the most is that the traditional center is now extinct.
