Tips: Stick to the trees at first, because everything dangerous (aside from the birds) are on the ground, and you travel much faster by jumping from tree to tree. Also, your clan learns by watching, so for instance, if they see you eating something new or doing something new (like cracking open something with a rock, or making a spear for instance) then they will do it too. For example, in this video you can see other apes eating or drinking what you do.

Some tips: Use your senses, it’s not a typical game where you figure out what’s going on by looking around with your eyes, you stop moving a lot to switch between senses and get your information that way. You don’t just find predators by stumbling into them, if you’re going to leave the relative safety of the tree canopy, use your sense of hearing to check for predators before going to the forest floor. Always be using all three senses to check what’s going on around you and identify everything with all senses because it increases your neural development. When you are being attacked the game is slowing time and trying to teach you how to dodge the attack but you’re panicking and dismissing the tip and getting destroyed every time. Learn how to dodge. Many actions like grooming, dodging, and crafting use a sound cue to indicate when you release the button. When grooming for example you hold the button til you hear the sound then let go and the bond increases.

I've only seen Ancestors a couple times over the years and it piqued my interest, but every other YouTuber that I watched dropped it very early on. For now, I legitimately could not ask for a better content creator to pick up the game and showcase what it has to offer than you, it's a perfect match honestly.

On the off chance that you'd see this, please consider continuing the game and making it into a series (No pressure or anything as I know you've got The Infected, Metro, possibly SCUM and maybe even Red Dead coming, so take your time and please keep Ancestors at the back of your mind if possible).

This HAS to be a series! This little area of jungle is only a tiny fraction of the playable area, and there's so many mechanics and animals you haven't seen yet. My recommendation: when you use your senses, be extra thorough in identifying literally everything around you. It's what helps you conquer fear of the unknown, and find new and interesting tools and foods. Oh, and definitely stay in the trees as much as possible (not too high though, otherwise the massively-oversized eagle will get you). I loved this video, I've loved watching other YouTubers' playthroughs, and I can't wait for more!

This game has weird mechanic, but once you internalize them and they become second nature, this game becomes a real gem if you're really nerding out with the concept. Loved it.

The game tells you that you have to manage hunger, thirst, AND tiredness, so sleeping is a must, poor apes don't run on Duracell.

foost! please make this a long series once you get the hang of things! i know it’s a lot to get down but all the other playthroughs i’ve seen give up before it gets good and i really want to see the full game played out

Watching you playing this game was hella fun. Tips: use your senses constantly when you move and inspect everything you see with "?"; remember what each item does or at least the healing stuff; walk as much as you can starting with shallow water and while using senses (jumping from tree to tree and using vines is cool but not good for the locomotion neurons); and the most important lay down on a sleep spot and grow neurons, learning how to modify items and improving communication are key. Will be tough at first, took me like 3 tries and lot of dead clan members to figure out how to fight properly lol and way more to fully understand the neuron tree and how generations work. Hoping this to be a series and watch more!

I absolutely love this game; it's intensity is unexpected! I never made it very far, but some of the things I learned very early is to stick to your main camp and learn everything you can about smashing rocks, making tools and weapons before you start venturing out. Most importantly, stay in the trees!!! EVERYTHING on the ground will want to kill you. hahah Great first look though!
