Bill, Jeb and Bob explain how to Get To Get Into Kearth Orbit

You need to turn on Annotations!

A bunch of clips showing a Kearth orbit capable rocket using only the default parts in Kerbal Space Program. Staging sequencing is critically important here, and the margins are pretty thin. You can add a 7 part booster cluster under this if you want a bit more room to maneuver, but this worked fine for me. Watch the video with annotations to get the full experience.

A nice person has produced this table of orbital velocities, these will tell you how fast you have to be going to be 'in orbit'.

@ToobTheNoobToob There's a link i the video description that has a table of speeds for different altitude orbits. So, the speed you need to be is a function of altitude. 2200-2300 is a good speed (when you're below 50km) 2800 is *way* too fast. Once you're up to speed wait until your altimeter stops climbing, at maximum altitude you want to then thrust along your orbit and bring it up to the Vcirc speed on that page.

@ToobTheNoobToob You always need to keep fuel in reserve, once you reach apokee you should burng to accelerate your orbit so that you don't fall back to where you started.

thats a lot nicer looking orbit then any of mine, they were kinda; fly to 40km then burn everything left horizontally
