It's nice that everything is easy access today, but the excitement is gone. No more waiting, everything is available just like that.
And I loved collecting CDs.

We had an On Cue (musicland subsidiary) in my hometown in the 90s. Don't think it stayed open long after the turn of the century. Cool store, though. Miss those days.

Im in Australia, and used source all my CDs from good old USA via mail order. 3 years ago CD Connection went under, and it was like losing an old friend. I then bought fromm CD Universe, now 2 weeks ago they are gone! Nothing left. Where to buy my music from? Its the end of the world, Armagedden for sure.

Fye still sells physical copies of movies and cds as well as vinyl records but there locations seem to have shrunk. I used to buy cds from fye and some 4k movies. I'm glad that fred meyers decided to continue selling physical copies of movies since they made a deal with the distribution studio services. Even gamestop made a deal with the distribution studio services to sell physical copies of 4k, blu ray and dvd discs in stores and on gamestop website. Even though gamestop is known for ripping off there customers with trade ins, they still support physical media. I was surprised that gamestop made a deal with the distribution studio services to sell physical copies of just because the xbox series x has a disc reader for games but also plays movies. At this point, gamestop might as well buy and sell 4k blu ray players and dvd players. However, gamestop will still continue to rip off there customers with the trade in deals with 4k blu ray players and dvd players like they already do with video games and game consoles if gamestop were to go this route.
