How to make a DIY go pro chin mount for your helmet.

Heys guys, so I've been looking for a way to mount my gopro to the chin of my helmet for a while now. I have seen a few ways of doing it but this was the only one I found that worked for my helmet so far.

The rain has finally cleared up here in Auckland so a new motovlog will be coming soon featuring the new chin mount point of view!
Make sure to subscribe and give it a thumbs up if this helped you. Thanks to everyone who has subscribed to the channel so far, really appreciate it.

About to do this again on another helmet, thanks for the video. Only thing i recommend to peeps doing this is, get the angle right so ur gopro is as close to the helmet and pointing in the right direction. The farther the camera is from your chin, the heavier it feels.

Thanks a lot! I watched at least 10 other videos and this is the only one that seems like it'd actually work well. I'll definitely try it out.

With the tape between adhesive and the actual helmet your just applying adhesive to the tape though right? That doesn’t effect the adhesives bond to the helmet?

Nice view man, I'm hoping to get something similar with my new build. Hope I can get close to the same results. I'm surprised you are getting the handlebars with the gopro up that high.

Great video, however wouldn't the layer of masking tape create a weak link between the epoxy and the VHB? I recently did research on how to chin mount my GoPro Hero 6 Black to my Scorpion T-1200 Freeway. Given the helmets curves, I resorted to a curved mount that makes perfect contact on the side of my helmet, and has several mounting joints that extend and aim the GoPro center on your chin. Also in another video, someone used an epoxy like you did, however they stuck it straight to the helmet with no VHB.

Personally, I see your method is superior because you can still relocate it if you realize you've made a mistake down the line. However, I would use black epoxy, and be sure to sand off all the masking tape to ensure there's no adhesion on weak materials. No weak links.

Only reason I'm paranoid about perfect adhesion is because every now and then me and my friends go to a shut down road and hit high speeds. Last time we did that, I had my GoPro side mounted. I pulled my head up at speed, and the wind drag was insane, so I tucked back down ASAP because I'm still suspicious of the VHB.
