Billie Joe Armstrong is a criminally underrated lyricist. To me, he should be mentioned as one of the greatest writers in rock history. A ton of great lines include cognitive dissonance and contradicting ideas. The passage, “The freedom to obey, ” is a very powerful and poignant idea. What a world class talent he is.

People can say what they want about GD being mainstream compared to other rock and punk bands, but that’s what happens when you are a great band that has crushed it for decades, and, more importantly, not a single one of these people can deny that they continuously produce hit after hit with relevant lyrics and always stay true to their sound. This song, this band, some of the best stuff to ever hit my ears, I remember hearing minority for the first time and my god their music never gets old, Billie's voice and guitar, Mike's Bass and backing vocals and Trè's drumming skills make up some of the most talented and energetic musicians to date ♥️🎵

Everyone is saying this album was horrible, but it's my favorite of theirs. I think it's great
